Wry, observant and touching, Shall We Kiss? is a contemporary meditation on the wages of infidelity. When Gabriel and Emilie meet by chance and he offers her a ride, it turns into a pleasant dinner with romantic overtones. But when he attempts a goodnight kiss, she admonishes him that this might have unexpected consequences and tells him stories about friends who complicate their lives with sex.
After a lovely evening, Gabriel (Michael Cohen) offers his new acquaintance, Émilie (Julie Gayet), a goodnight kiss. As much as she'd like to indulge, Émilie declines and recounts the story of Nicolas (Emmanuel Mouret) and Judith (Virginie Ledoyen), best friends whose innocent smooch ended in disaster. Written and directed by Mouret, this charming romantic comedy set in Nantes, France, reflects on the consequences and complexities of love.
